Raise a Racquet Live Auction & Fundraiser

Raise a Racquet is a satellite event of the Sanford Open which takes place in June and is a key fundraising effort focused on a live and silent auction during a cocktail reception. The Sanford Open Tennis Tournament and Fundraiser support tennis programs for children and teens.

About the event
In 2025, more than 700 children benefited from these programs at the Y and in local schools. Thanks to the generosity of donors and sponsors, we provided:
Free tennis lessons for children in the Y’s pre-K program
The 3rd Grade Backpack Project, serving students in Great Salt Bay, Nobleboro, Jefferson, South Bristol, Bristol, and Waldoboro, including five free lessons and take-home equipment
Free court time for all youth under 18
Over 200 free racquets distributed to local children
Scholarships for fee-based programs to ensure continued participation
