Sailing Camp
Enjoy a summer of fun learning how to sail. The YMCA now offers sailing camp in two locations, Round Pond ocean sailing and Jefferson Lake Sailing. Kids 8-14 can learn sailing and seamanship skills at the YMCA’s Sailing Camp. Our staff of experienced instructors will teach your kids lifetime skills in our fleet of 14’ dinghies. The new sailors have an opportunity for non-stop fun in, on and around the water in a safe, clean, outdoor environment. No experience necessary. Children should be comfortable in water and must complete a swim check.
Round Pond Sailing Camp - Learn to sail on the ocean. Operated out of Round Pond, the sailing cabin is located across from the Anchor Inn. Sign up for one week sessions from June 27-August 26
Damariscotta Lake Sailing Camp - Learn to sail on the Lake in Jefferson. Program is a collaborative effort of the Central Lincoln County YMCA and the Damariscotta Lake Watershed Association. Sign up for one week sessions from July 5-29
Both Camps run daily from 9am-3pm Members $175 Nonmembers $225
ALL CAMPERS WILL NEED TO PASS A SWIM TEST BY SWIMMING 75 YARDS WITH A LIFE JACKET ON.
LIT (Leaders in Training) The Sailing LIT program will run weekly from June 27th-August 26th with five spots available weekly.
Members $70 Nonmembers $95
LIT’s must be 14 years old or older to apply. LIT’s must fill out an application, be interviewed by YMCA staff and receive training before they can attend camp. LIT’s must attend one of the following training Friday afternoon sessions: June 24, July 8, July 22, August 5, August 19. Class hours are 3pm-6pm.
